How do I know if my engine is ruined?
I went to buy a new truck and left my trade in at the dealer for 5 days to make sure that I liked the truck I was going to buy. Long story short they changed my oil, I guess they thought it was a done deal. Well it wasn’t a done deal and I wanted my old truck back, when I picked it up and drove off it made a horrible sound, engine light came on about 30 miles later. My mechanic told me that there wasn’t any oil on the dipstick, am I in trouble.

How do politicains help the economy?
Do they really have anything to do with it? I always believed that our economy lives and dies on our companies. It’s hard for a country to not trade with you if you have a necessary product (oil) or put out good products, regardless of the leadership.

What should I know when having someone work on my home or car when I cannot do it myself?
I’m not particularly skilled at any one trade but I know how to use basic tools like wrenches, hammers, saws, screwdrivers, and measuring tape for minor vehicle maintenanc ( only wrenches and screw drivers for vehicle repairs) or home improvements. I can change the oil, oil filter, brake pads, air filter, spark plugs and spark plug wires on my truck (relatively minor things) but the more advanced stuff (computer controlled wiring, fixing head gaskets, cylynders, transmissions, etc) I am not skilled at, plus I don’t have my own garage. Around the house, I can tighten fixtures such as toilet paper holders, towel holders, faucets, etc and fix broken furniture when the damage is minor. What should I do so that I don’t get taken advantage of by some unscrupulous mechanic, carpenter, plumber, sheetrock contractor or electrician (I have been the victim of one once), when it comes to more advanced repairs and building work that I’m not as skilled at? What laws should I be aware of?

USA wants oil in Iraq and Opium poppies in Afghanistan?
this is a quote from AP wire services:
“A purported Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousef Ahmadi, claimed in a phone call to The Associated Press that militants shot the helicopter down in southern Helmand province, THE WORLD”S LARGEST OPIUM POPPY GROWING REGION WHERE COMBAT HAS BEEN HEAVY IN RECENT MONTHS”
The USA government really does not care care about Darfur because they have nothing the USA wants , nothing that makes money. The U.S has interests in Iraq for the oil of course, is the TRUTH OF THE MATTER that the U.S.A. is fighting (or whatever the U.S.A. is doing) with Bin Laden in Afghanistan REALLY to PROTECT the U.S.A.’s interest in the OPIUM POPPY? As Afghanistan has nothing else the USA would want and the USA really has not tried very hard too “get” Bin Laden anyway you know (and i hope you are not foolish enough to believe that the USA does not have an interest in the drug trade..of course the USA does!)
the USA’s “war on drugs” as everybody knows ..is a big fat front and a farce, the USA makes money off the drugs and it also helps to anesthetise (and kill) the underclass)
the usa has released propaganda to US citizens that Bin Laden is now using the drug money from the poppies to finance his terrorism as if he finally woke up and now instead of not allowing planting of poppies he is now protecting the poppies for his own needs. How stupid does theUSA government think it’s citizens are?

What is the Dependablility of a Pontiac Sunfire?
I have a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire 4Door SE. It has 117,000 miles. I give it regular oil changes, and it was given a tune up last year. The only thing I had to replace on it was the alternator at 90,000 miles, and break pads and rotors. On occassion it’ll run funny (a little rough), but most of the time it purrs like a kitten. I’ve had the car for 3 years. I’m debating whether or not to trade the car in for a Honda since my experience with Honda’s is their made to run on high miles (i’ve had a honda before). How dependable is a Sunfire on high miles? Should I trade it in?

US accused Iraq of WMD. Did USA use a bigger weapon by disturbing the region for sake of selfish oil greed?
The turmoil USA has created in the Middle East and Muslim nations, has been more effective than if Saddam was to use one of his alledged Weapons of Mass Destruction. What do you think about this statement? All to protect it’s own interests in oil - Is it worth the greater than Pearl Harbor or World Trade center deaths of US soldiers in addition to the Iraqis and Innocent civilions of other nations whose lives are torn by this 1 action of invading Iraq.

Trade in a vehicle?
I’m going to get a new car and probably lease it and trade in the one I currently have. Should I go and fix the things on my current car like now it needs an oil change and a smog and other misc items or should I just go and trade it in and see what I can get instead of paying the money to fix it? I obviously want to get the most I can so what would be the better route?

What’s going on with oil from shale? Is it economically feasible?
During the oil crisis in the 1970s it was claimed that the US had a vast reserve of oil in shale, but that it was too expensive to recover. Thirty plus years later, oil is close to $100 a barrel, but I don’t hear anyone talking about oil from shale.
Yes, I’m for conservation and reducing our need for fossil fuel, but shale oil could possibly reverse our balance of trade deficit, decrease our involvement in the Middle East, and provide us with oil while we hopefully are intelligent enough to look for cleaner energy sources.
