Can we take back gas prices?

Darrell L asked:

Why can’t we unite on a National Pass Gas Day to show Big Oil that the price we pay should come down just like they price they pay HAS come down? Oil traded at less than $100/ barrell today yet, my gas was 11 cents HIGHER than yesterday!
Jenna; when gas prices started to spike; they were charging us for what they were currently paying; even though they had purchased it months ago.

How is the stim package supposed to work?

Throwing buckets of borrowed money at the economy is supposed to solve these problems how?

We are far too heavy on service jobs. This has created a massive trade defficiet. The budget deficiet, drug trade, H1 Visas and Illegals are also draining the economy faster than we can sell goods overseas. Any one of those problems by themselves are massively damaging to the US economy but combined are lethal.

Without the buy American clause are not illegals, China and India the principle recipient of the stimulus money. This creates jobs in America how? Except for a few jobs for people to facilitate the transfer of our wealth overseas I don’t see any sustainable jobs being created nor any help for the economy.

Green is a great idea and one we should really be pushing. We need an actual plan of attack. As stands right now universities and big oil will get most of the green research money. Most of that will be for work outsourced overseas. America outsources just about everything today even R&D which is a huge part of our economic woes to start with and greasing the wheels to outsource more is going to help how?

Even if the R&D is done in the US, then what? We create a company that puts it’s factory in China. Sales agents all over the world collect the bulk of the commissions and forign investers in Wall street rake in the profits. Where are the jobs? If going green means building projects, illegals have swamped the building trades in much of the US. So again few US jobs created.

Please explain how the Stim package is going to create any significant jobs. Fighting outsourcing with the buy American clause (Pbbt on trade war, our top export is scrap metal. What exactly are they going to boycott ROFL. Trade war was threatened when Reagan started his buy American campaign. The world backed down then.)

Slashing the Federal budget to reduce the deficiet would help. Legalizing weed would help create jobs and reduce the flow of money overseas. Slashing H1 visas that makes sense. Throwing more money out the door just doesn’t make sense to me. We have been doing that for 20 years now and look at where it has gotten us.

Can anyone name one thing that John McCain has done to prevent this economic crisis from happening?

Thank God for all asked:

Barack has opposed the war in Iraq since its began. That is what has gotten us into this economic crisis, that and bad trade agreements made by the Bush administration, for those of you who argue its not, then what in your mind has? For those of you who argue that the gas prices is what has caused this economic crisis, what is it that you think caused demand to go up and supply to shrink? Could it be the war? Bush running Chavez out of town telling him we didn’t need his oil?

Do you think we should stop selling corn to Mexico?

Dog Tricks asked:

Serious question here.Under the Trade Agreement with Mexico we buy their oil very cheaply and in return we sell them corn very cheaply. This has put millions of AG workers in Mexico out of work. The result…millions of illegal immigrants.BTW the savings their government gets on the corn doesn’t reflect in the amount they pay at the stands to purchase it.So do you think we should quit sending them corn so their AG work picks back up?
eldude…you don’t see the correlation between all these illegal immigrants and the Trade Agreement?
Sony…you need to read my answer again.Mainly my answer pertained to love.I see too much hate on this forum regarding other cultures.Sorry you misunderstood.
Don Juan as long as no caramel corn.
MB…..Thank you ! That’s a wonderful link! I hope people read it.May I use it in my other question?

Why did the price of gasoline jump more than 30 cents in one day?

April 17, 2009 · Filed Under Current Events · 19 Comments
wrepete1951 asked:

I am so tired of gasoline prices spiraling out of control while the oil companies continue to report record profits that I could scream. What are they doing with all that money? They certainly aren’t drilling for more oil here in the states. Meanwhile, we continue to be held as energy consuming hostages by those towel heads over there in the Mid East and other places such as Venezuala. Every time we fill up at the pump we are funding the drug trade run by Hugo Chavez, or the terror campaign headed up by people such as Osama bin Laden. When are we gonna get are heads out of our a**** and fix this mess? If it isn’t already, it just may be too late.

All I have to do is promise to not take away your guns, only tax the middle class, and make sure your government doesn’t focus any of your tax dollars on infrastructure or oil independence. Oh and not try to renegotiate the unfair trade agreements that are losing us our jobs.Is that about right?
